The starting point of the Transformation_1–2–3 series is inspired by Georges Didi-Huberman’s Shells (2018), in which fragments of tree bark collected from Auschwitz are treated as “letters of a pre-alphabetic script.” Similarly, this series brings together materials as textual elements—memory fragments bearing witness to a specific time and place. In Transformation_2 and Transformation_3, found objects and earth shaped into adobe function as remnants of lived experience in Dikmen Valley. In Transformation_1, concrete—an emblematic material of capitalist urbanization—is used to construct the “text.” Through these material contrasts, the memory of a progressively disappearing landscape is archived and rendered permanent.
