Kasa Plaza, 2021 Installation, UV print on composite

Kasa Plaza narrates the condition of individuals who are subjected to an imposed way of life and stacked within isolated spaces, where uniformity becomes a mode of survival. Within these multi-storey structures—devoid of spaces for encounter—class distinctions among urban residents become increasingly apparent. The crates, objects of consumer culture whose visual form recalls skyscrapers, are transformed into endlessly rising architectural floors within the work. The installation is composed of three distinct parts and is given a three-dimensional spatial effect. Archival images of skyscrapers are printed onto composite plates positioned in front of, to the right, and to the left of the crates, forming a spatial layer that merges with them. In this configuration, the skyscraper becomes both the base and an integral component of the crates, collapsing architectural representation and lived space into a single structure.
